Selecting a Point
A point of interest can be selected using geographic coordinates, physical addresses, or zip codes.
Geographic Coordinates: To select a point using geographic coordinates (latitudes and longitudes), click on the radio button (small circle) next to the Map Coordinates as shown in this example.
Coordinate selections can be specified by manually entering latitude and longitude values as an Address Search or by clicking points on the Google map interface. A maximum of 10 points can be selected.
An example of entering geographic coordinates is shown. Only one point can be selected at a time using this method.
Examples of pointing and clicking on the map are shown here. Numbers are assigned from 1 to 10 as the user continues clicking on the map.
The names and geographic coordinates of all selected points will display in the text boxes below the Google Map. These names can be replaced with new names that would help users to easily identify the points (example, alfalfa field, golf course, etc.). It should be noted, however, that the names that are entered by users will not show in the report that is created. Instead, numbers that correspond to each name and the geographic coordinate of each point will show in the report.
Physical Address: A point of interest can be selected using the physical address in the Address Search text box as shown below. Clicking the Address Search button will insert a numbered point on the map.
Zip Codes: To select a point using zip codes, click on the radio button (small circle) next to the Zip Code(s) as shown in this example.
This will open a text box where multiple zip codes can be entered at a time. Individual zip code must be separated with a comma as shown below.
Note: Entering a zip code in Map Coordinates report provides data for a single central point in the zip code area. Entering a zip code in Zip Codes report, however, will provide an average value for the entire zip code area (note: more recent CA zip codes may not be supported).
Center, Recall, and Clear
At the bottom of the Google Map, there are three buttons that can be used to modify your selections and change the position of the map on the screen.
The CENTER button is used to refocus the map to the entire state of California after zooming in or moving outside of the state boundaries. The RECALL button is used to restore points that may have just been deleted or moved from their original most recently saved state. The CLEAR button is used to clear all map selections. A single point can be deleted by clicking the individual map marker. To move a marker, place the mouse cursor on the marker and drag it to the new location.

Saving and Choosing Delivery Methods
After selecting points of interest, you can save them for future references by clicking on the Save button (see example below). You can also generate the report and/or schedule the report to be emailed to you on daily and/or weekly basis. To select the delivery method, click on the radio buttons to the left of the texts as shown here.
Please note that only CSV and XML formats can be scheduled for email delivery. If Web format is selected, it will default to CSV.

Units, Data Size, and Formats
Selections for the unit, Date Range, and data format for map reports are similar to the standard CIMIS data retrieval process. The user must specify the unit as English (default) or Metric. The size of the data retrieved depends on the number of data points and the Date Range selected. Data can be generated in Web Report, CSV with Headers, and XML formats. Scheduled email deliveries will only be in CSV and XML formats.

Retrieve Data
After selecting data points, delivery methods, units, date range, and data format, click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page to generate the report interactively. Scheduled reports will be delivered after 6 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
