New station #195
May 12, 2005
Located Southwest of Auburn near Newcastle, California, there is an old Victorian farmhouse, affectionately referred to as the Heritage Center. In the yard surrounding this home there is an ample plot of grass, which is the location of Station #195, Auburn. This station is owned and operated by the Placer County Water Agency (PCWA), and was added to our network in February 2005. This station will add coverage to the Sierra foothills for this well established agricultural area that is rapidly developing. The CIMIS station is a part of the PCWA heritage and learning center, which will demonstrate the benefits of ETo based irrigation scheduling. A plan was discussed to add additional instrumentation inside the center, where real time weather data can be monitored. This station makes a nice addition to the network, as it assists the local residents including agricultural and landscape water users, farm advisors, and other irrigation specialists in their efforts to manage the water resources.

IMPORTANT - Sta. 182
December 16, 2005
The entire record of Hourly solar radiation mean from the Delano CIMIS weather station is incorrect.
The Daily solar radiation mean found in the database for Delano is erroneous for the period from 3/21/2002 to 5/20/2002.
To convert the Daily solar radiation mean for this period, multiply the Daily value found in the database by 0.4755.
An incorrect multiplier was used for the solar pyranometer upon installation. The telephone line used to interrogate the data logger was not available until mid-May, 2002. Once the erroneous multiplier was found, the correct multiplier was inserted in the data logger and the Hourly solar radiation values were corrected in the database.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
